Twitter Now Available in German

Spanish, French and Italian language versions of Twitter have all made their debut in recent weeks, and today, Twitter’s unveiling support for yet another language: German.

In typical Twitter fashion, the announcement was made in German and can be read below in English. Should you wish to change to German, you can do so from your Preferences page.

Clearly, Twitter’s volunteer translators are working at a fairly rapid pace. At this rate, we could see Twitter reach their 70+ language goal in just a few months.

Here’s the full announcement as shared on Twitter’s blog:

“German is one of the most widespread languages of the EU and is the last language we introduced in 2009 on Twitter.com.

With the indispensable help of our many fantastic translators and translators, we have five new languages in less than two months introduced – a huge achievement for our international group. The faster we can make available to Twitter for people all over the world, influencing the faster the different cultures of the world, the global conversation on Twitter.

Here are a few German-speaking users who are already actively engaging on Twitter and might interest you:

64GB Steampunk-Inspired USB Stick Priced Into the Stratosphere [Steampunk]

If I may, I’d like to borrow a bit from comedian Bill Maher. New Rule: If you’re going to ask $1,000 for a steampunk device, it must actually do something worthwhile, preferably related to steam power.

And something in this case cannot be “Kingston USB drive,” which is what this is, and $1,000 is exactly what designer Will Rockwell is asking for it.

Note to steampunk aficionados and aspiring designers: When you hobble something together, call it steampunk and charge $1,000, whatever it is you’re making better be powered by a steam engine and have the ability to fight battles on my behalf or fly like an airship. [Etsy via Born Rich]

Interview: Adam Carolla on Podcasting and Dating Turn-ons [VIDEO]

In February of this year, Adam Carolla, the former co-host of Loveline and The Man Show, was out of a job after his morning radio show, The Adam Carolla Show, was cancelled. Instead of wandering around waiting for his next gig though, Adam launched The Adam Carolla Podcast just three days after his cancellation.

The result? Over a million downloads in the first week, and it only grew from there. His show is now the most popular podcast on iTunes with millions of downloads every month.

His jump from the radio world to the social media world has been an interesting one, so were decided to sit down with Adam at the Blog World Expo in Las Vegas to see just how he built the show, what he thinks of social media, and…what his dating turn-ons are.

We hope you enjoy the interview. You may want to skip to about 3 minutes in if you want to skip Adam’s impromptu dating video (though it is hilarious). We covered a lot of different bases with the comedian:
